Our clients love having a team taking care of them. At ATS we cross refer clients based on what is likely to be the most effective combination of treatment for that individual.
Some clients may only need 1-2 initial chiropractic sessions and then happily only ever need massage therapy for maintenance.
Others may need some massage early on in their recovery to help break down adhesions or reduce painful trigger points, but get most benefit from improved mobility after chiropractic adjustments.
Every client is an individual…and we like to treat them that way.
Some clients are not sure which type of practitioner they need to see.
They may have already tried physiotherapy or sports massage for their symptoms and not experienced any tangible results.
We offer Free Consultations to assess whether your problem is driven mainly by issues in the muscle and fascia…or whether ligament and joint dysfunction is driving your painful symptoms or nerve impingement.
This is a chance for us to get hands on, and guide you to which is likely to be the most effective type of treatment.
So how does it work?
We don’t treat the conditions. We change the position of joints using gentle chiropractic…..no ‘cracking’ needed! This takes the stresses off the various structures like ligaments, muscles and nerves.
The body can then heal the damaged tissues. Then symptoms clear up. Simple. How quickly you heal depends on a few different things, like how long the structures have been under stress or whether the rest of your body is healthy.
We use only a minimal amount of force to create changes in the tissues; this promotes natural stability (the corrections ‘hold’ longer) which means long term relief of symptoms.
What does this mean for you? LESS VISITS! Hurrah! In fact, a typical years worth of visits to ATS is less than a daily cup of coffee.
After the very important initial stabilisation phase the visits are quickly spaced out.
Have you ever been to a massage therapist whose motto is ‘no pain, no gain’? You endure a painful massage, which initially helps but symptoms return a few days later. You may have been told you need weekly massage to keep things under control.
The beauty of our combined approach, is that a body that has already had structural imbalances corrected is much more responsive to soft tissue release. Time is not wasted on muscles that are only tense or shortened due to the joint restriction.
We often hear clients say ‘ how did you know that muscle would be painful without me telling you’….our massage therapists are problem solvers, they have impeccable palpation skills that will pick up on subtle changes in the tissue quality, they know which spot is likely causing referred pain or effecting function.
They work with your continuous feedback on pressure, so that pain can be reduced in a systematic way for efficient healing.
